intro to race (Ages: 6-10)

The Intro to Race program is designed for young skiers who are looking to advance their skills and learn about ski racing. This program serves as a transitional step between traditional ski lessons and a race program. The focus of the program is to continue to develop a strong skiing foundation outside of the race course and then begin to take those skills and translate them into a race course. This program is primarily a fundamentals based training program with a focus on having fun. A great introduction to ski racing!

Intro To Race Program Includes:

  • A high level of support from professional experienced coaching staff. All coaches are registered US Ski & Snowboard coaches that have been background checked, have received SafeSport training, and continually seek education to improve their coaching skills.

  • The Intro to Race program runs for 4 weeks in January and includes a total of 8 practice sessions.

  • Lowest athlete to coach ratio.

  • End of season team race/event.

  • End of season athlete evaluation and program recommendations for next season.

  • At the end of the Intro to Race program, eligible athletes will be invited to advance into the Junior Race program for the remainder of the Mad Alpine season. A prorated Junior Race program fee will apply to those who choose to advance into that program.

  • Program Schedule: Thursday evenings 5:30PM-7:30PM & Sundays 10:00AM-12:00PM. Program starts January 4th and ends January 28th.

  • Program cost: $350. Fees can be paid online in full at time of registration or through a 3 installment payment option. Register by 10/31 to secure the best rate.
